What is Travel Itch?+
A travel scratch map on the web. Mark countries and regions as visited, will visit, or want to visit. Your public profile shows stats and maps you choose to share.
Is it free?+
Yes — the core map is free. Every account gets one world map and all preset themes (each with light and dark). AI is not included on Free — buy an AI credit pack anytime (Pro not required), or upgrade to Pro for a monthly AI allowance, custom theme colors, and an ad-free profile.
How is this different from Instagram?+
We are geography-first, not photo-first. You share where you have been on a map — countries scratched, percent of world, bucket list — not a grid of pictures. We do not host your photos.
Do you track my GPS?+
No. You manually mark places on the map. We do not run background location tracking.
Can I have multiple maps?+
Each account has one world map — countries, places, trips, and routes all live there. Pro doesn’t add extra maps; it unlocks custom themes, ad-free profile, clean shares/embeds, print discount, and a monthly AI allowance.
How do AI credits work?+
AI isn’t included on Free — buy a pack anytime without Pro, or upgrade to Pro for a monthly allowance. Packs stack on top. Open the AI usage meter in the header to see activity. Map chat is powered by Itch.
Why are there booking links on my bucket list?+
We may earn affiliate commission when you click outbound links for flights, stays, car rental, activities, restaurants, sights, or travel gear on places you want to visit. This helps keep the free tier sustainable.
How do I pause or delete my account?+
Settings → Privacy to pause (hide profile, keep data). Danger zone to schedule deletion with a 30-day grace period. Export your data anytime from Privacy.
Can I upload photos to my map?+
Not in v1 — we link out to Instagram or your blog instead. This keeps storage costs down and avoids moderation headaches.
